With the cost of living causing severe problems for so many people at the moment, we are pleased to announce the introduction of a new “Hardship Fund” on behalf of our members. A pot of money has been ringfenced by Penarth and Dinas Runners to help any of our members for whom financial difficulties have become an obstacle to renewing membership and/or participation in club activities. For example, this may include financial assistance to cover:
We can also help to arrange lifts to events for those struggling with the cost of petrol or public transport. While we cannot guarantee to cover all running-related costs (public race fees, new trainers etc), we hope this will provide some assistance to any of our members facing financial hardship. If you feel that you would benefit from the Hardship Fund, please contact Kit Lambert (Chair), Simon Williamson (Vice Chair), Lyn Evans (Treasurer), or either of our Welfare Officers, Nigel Adams and Debbie Williams. Email details for all these individuals can be found on our Club Committee page:
