We are a friendly running club with mixed abilities of male and female runners. Formed in 1988, our Club encourages and welcomes new members from all backgrounds. We have trained coaches and members with vast running experience, all of whom are happy to give advice and share their knowledge to enable you to improve and reach your full potential.
Monday is our Main Club Session. We meet at Old Penarthians Rugby Club at 6:30 pm. **SEE OUR TRAINING PAGE FOR DETAILS**
Wednesday & Thursday sessions are conversational runs, which can be more like mystery tours of the area! These runs take in country paths, woods, fields and stiles and we generally explore the areas of Penarth and Dinas Powys. We start together, stay together and finish together. Please check our training page to confirm where and when to meet.
We have recently introduced a new "tempo-effort" run at 7am on Friday mornings, led by our two Club Captains. Check out the Captains' Run via the Facebook invite on our Members' group.
We organise track sessions on Wednesdays in the winter/spring months, depending on track availability, with details updated weekly on the Club Members' Facebook page.
Weekend runs are sometimes arranged via Facebook. Many of our members participate in local parkrun events on Saturday mornings, either running or volunteering.
We schedule our own Club Championships, which are based on local Road & Cross Country races. Members often travel to races together for a fun day out.
Weekends away at marathons or other races are action-packed adventures for runners and supporters! These can sometimes be longer trips to overseas events. We have social events throughout the year, and a great camaraderie exists amongst our members.
We organise three races each year; a 6-mile Winter Race in Cosmeston Lakes Country Park at the end of January, a 5-mile Mixed Terrain Race at Porthkerry Country Park in the early summer, and a Relay Race for 250 teams(!) at Cosmeston Lakes Country Park on a Wednesday evening in July. These events are well attended, and are marshalled by our Club Members.

* Please Note: Our sessions are suitable for anyone who can complete a continuous 5 km in under 35 minutes, and are comfortable running continuously for a hour or so.
